Farhan Akhtar’s outstanding performance in Bhaag Milkha bhaag has found great favor with the domestic audience. This is a biopic of the legendary athlete Milkha Singh. The film is directed by Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra. When the film opened, the occupancy was average ranging between 40% and 45%. The stellar performance soon attracted the audience and the film picked up extremely well in the weekend – a trend that it has maintained. The result is that the film has earned Rs 104.4 crore in 24 days and has become the first Farthan Akhtaar film to cross the 100 crore mark. This is the third movie this year to enter the 100 crore club after Race 2 and Yeh Jawani Hain Diwani.
According to the collection figures, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag earned Rs. 53.49 crores in the first week, Rs. 26.1 crores in second week and Rs. 18.51 crores in the third week. Finally, the movie earned Rs. 6.1 crores on the fourth weekend, thus entering into the 100 crore club. The weekend collections of the movie have been impressive. In the third weekend, the movie earned Rs. 1.2 crores on Friday, Rs. 2.25 croreson Saturday and Rs. 2.65 crore on Sunday.
