After Prakash Jha’s ‘Aarakshan’ , Deepika Padukone is all set to play Amitabh Bachchan’s daughter again. This time it will be in noted director Shoojit Sircar’s film, ‘Piku’. The director will try to explore a complex father-daughter relationship in the film that has a very impressive cast. Versatile actor Irrfan Khan will also be playing a key role in the film. The director is naturally very excited about this new project. In a statement Shoojit Sircar said, “The charisma of Mr. Bachchan, seamless acting of Deepika with the versatile flair of Irrfan Khan and the evergreen Moushami Chaterjee will make ‘Piku’ an experience for me. I am looking forward to this fantastic opportunity of working together with such gifted talent from the industry.”
The film will be a joint production between MSM Motion Pictures, Rising Sun Films and Saraswati Entertainment Creations Limited (SECL) and will go to the floors in August of this year. Shoojit Sircar is also working on other projects that feature Big B. He has directed the megastar in the film ‘Shoebite’ which is yet to release. Sircar is also the creating director in ‘Yudh ‘, Amitabh’s fictional TV series which will hit the airwaves from July on Sony Entertainment Television.
