The path of true love is proverbially rough and lovers have to overcome obstacles small and big to claim their beloved. The main protagonist in Karan Johar’s upcoming film, Gori tere yar mein faces a situation somewhat like this.
City boy Imraan Khan falls in love with Kareena Kapoor and travels all the way to the village to win his love. She is working in the village as a social worker. Johar said that the film draws inspiration from a real life event that happened in the life of Punit Malhotra who is producing the movie.
At the first look launch of the movie, Karan Johar said, “Today, we are making a revelation ……… Very honestly, this is a true story. It happened to Punit. He did actually lose a relationship”. Further talking about this failed relationship, he said, “He tried to pursue this girl; he crossed a few parts of the country to reach the heartland to woo the woman. She is now married and settled with children. This is an autobiographical film. Gori tere pyar mein is Punit’s love story. He never shared the details, but we know there was a girl”.
